I.D.T.A. ROSETTE AND MEDAL AWARDS

Terms and Conditions

THEATRE

THEATRE ROSETTES (ballet, tap, stage)

 Candidates aged from 3 to 8 years of age may commence this series of awards. Candidates who have reached their eighth birthday may complete (but not start) this series. Persons with Special Needs of any age are permitted to take these tests without restriction.

 There are twelve awards in all. No more than three tests are permissible at any one session providing that each two or three tests are in different subjects (ballet, tap, modern, jazz, gym, national, stage).

 

 JUVENILE AWARD (ballet, tap, stage)

 Candidates aged from 5 to 8 years. A simple Character Dance arranged by teacher based on steps from Primary Grade.

 

PRELIMINARY (ballet, tap, stage)

Candidates aged from 7 years except Modern Dance, which the minimum age are 9.

 

BRONZE, SILVER, GOLD (ballet, tap, stage)

Bronze and upwards aged from 8 years except Modern Dance Bronze from 10 years. Candidates must obtain medals from Bronze in strict rotation. Candidates which have taken Bronze and Silver with another recognised Association may start with Gold in the I.D.T.A. Candidates must have a complete knowledge of all examinations at a lower level.

 

FREESTYLE AND COUNTRY & WESTERN

 FREESTYLE ROSETTES (disco/jazz and modern/jazz)

Candidates aged from 3 to 8 years of age may commence this series of awards. Candidates who have reached their eighth birthday may complete (but not start) this series. Persons with Special Needs of any age are permitted to take these tests without restriction.

There are twelve awards in all. No more than three tests are permissible at any one session.

 

ONE DANCE AWARD (Disco/jazz, Line Dancing)

Candidates aged from 5 years. A simple Freestyle Dance arranged by teacher.

 

BRONZE, SILVER, GOLD, GOLD BARS, IDTA STARS, PRESIDENT’S AWARDS, INTERNATIONAL AWARDS AND INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATE.

Bronze Medal and upward, aged from 8 years. Candidates must obtain medals from Bronze in strict rotation. Candidates which have taken Bronze and Silver with another recognised Association may start with Gold in the I.D.T.A. Candidates must have a complete knowledge of all examinations at a lower level.

 

GENERAL CONDITIONS

No two medal or grade examination in the same group may be taken at the same session. Candidates must obtain all awards and medals in strict rotation. With exception to Freestyle Rosettes only one test from each discipline is permissible at any one session.

Candidates must be pupils of a qualified member of the I.D.T.A. or affiliate of the Association It is required that candidates complete a course of instruction by class or personal lessons in the school which enters them before being accepted for tests.

It must be clearly understood by the candidates that the gaining of an award in no way suggests the recipient’s ability to teach and that it may not be used for any subsequent professional advertising purpose
